That gives Green Blade Rising more lyrical breadth than they've managed before, with the result is that it's their best album since Levelling the Land. The rock's a little harder on songs like "Pretty Target," while on "Come On" fiddler Jon Sevink still brings the stirring Celtic-isms into play.

Green Blade Rising () Truth and Lies () Professional ratings; Review scores; Source Rating; Allmusic: link: Green Blade Rising is the seventh studio album by the Levellers, released in Track listing. All band members are given writer's credits on all the tracks except on "Believers" where Stratton (Paddy) is also credited.

Compare Green Blade Rising to the early Levellers classics and 3 or 4 stars might be fair. If I compare Green Blade Rising to the other 20 or 30 albums I have bought this year, it is the only one that I am still really enthusiatic about 4 weeks later. Thats the real measure of a 5 star album for me/5(37).

This track saves the album though and revives memories of how vibrant and energetic the Levellers are as a live band. Overall Green Blade Rising is one long plea for the stable base of Levellers.
