UTF-8 CSV File for importing. When you have issues uploading a csv file into PractiTest you need to make sure the CSV file is saved with the current encoding (UTF-8). This is especially important for non-English characters. MS-Excel is known to save CSV files in different encoding standards, depending on the OS of the machine where it is installed.

UTF-7 encoding is used primarily in environments that historically have been restricted to 7 bits, such as NNTP and some email applications. Because of issues with robustness and security, you should not use UTF7 encoding in 8-bit environments where UTF-8 encoding can be used instead. Applies to See also.

What is a UTF file The UTF file type is primarily associated with AOL by America Online, Inc. Found in TOD [Tools on Demand] folder.. How can I open a UTF file? You need a suitable software like AOL from America Online, Inc. to open a UTF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" (Windows 10) or "Windows cannot open this file.

Hello, "OPEN DATASET IN TEXT MODE ENCODING UTF-8" can be used to create a file in UTF-8 encoding. Is it possible to create and write to a file in UTF format? Including a byte order mark for Little Endian or Big Endian? Thank you.

First of all answer by Jon Skeet is correct answer and will work. The problem with your code is that you convert incoming String into bytes according to your current encoding (I guess - UTF-8) and then try to create a new String with UTF encoding from bytes that were produced as UTF-8 and that's why you get garbled output.
