Released 14 years ago, , "Psych Out" has aged well. The CD is strong, start to finish, with 11 sparkling, guitar-driven tunes that are melodic and hooky, but manage to "crunch" at the same time. The opener, "Welcome to Dead Town", sets the tone, and the fun continues all the way through track 11, "You Keep Me Praying." The guitar work is 4/5(7).

Released on the Sidewalk imprint of Tower Records, manufactured by Capitol, this is an excellent '60s album from a Dick Clark/American International motion picture, Psych Out. There is only one track from Sky Saxon's Seeds, and their "Two Fingers Pointing on You" sounds exactly like, you guessed it, "Pushin' Too Hard."The band made a career out of reinventing that one tune, and they do not.
